The Scout Office, Swindon
A Victorian building, dating from the early 1900s in central Swindon that had been used by the Scout movement as an office.

Prior approval consent was granted for the building to be converted into eight studio flats under permitted development. A further full planning application was granted for a lightwell and rear dormer, to allow natural light into the basement, and enlarge the top floor units respectively.

Ab Rogers Design were commissioned as architects, as a result of the Compact Living project they completed for developers U+I, where the brief was to distil the key elements of a traditional apartment into an efficient, sensitive, fit for purpose, multi-functional micro living unit.
