Prusoms Island, Wapping
Prusoms Island is a rare example of a 19th Century general goods warehouse with an open-air atrium. Features include arched windows with Portland stone sills and small pane industrial glazing, with cast-iron pivot hoists on the external walls. The building was converted to flats in the late 1980s, and located within the Wapping Wall Conservation Area.
The floorplan was reconfigured to remove a third bedroom, and create an expansive open-plan living, dining and kitchen space. Ceilings, flooring, lighting and bathrooms were also replaced to create a modern bright interior.
